Your Donation at Work

Over the last year, we hosted our first national OCDA conference. This was the first event of its kind for the Deaf and hard of hearing in the United States. Over 50 people journeyed from all over our country to gather in Dallas for workshops, translation efforts, and to be with other Deaf and hard of hearing Christians. This was a tremendous blessing to those who practice their faith in silence - as they normally feel isolated and alone.

This event led to the development of a LEXICON TEAM that is working with the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in North America to translate our divine services into ASL. Until recently, there was not even a sign for Orthodox Christian! This work will provide unprecedented access to Orthodoxy for the Deaf and hard of hearing in the US. Also, we have been working with Ancient Faith Kids to provide ASL videos, engaging in Zoom studies for the Deaf with translators, and hosting online meet and greets during the year. While a lot has been done, there is still a lot for the OCDA to do. This is why we need your financial support.

All funds raised in the OCDA go directly to hosting events, developing resources, helping the Deaf and hard of hearing by way of ASL translators, making educational videos, and some (limited) travel scholarships. There are no salaries or significant overhead expenses. In other words, any donation you make goes directly to OCDA ministry efforts!
